Fun Gifts for the Modern Human.

In this world where we have access to all, gift giving has become extremely overwhelming. While I believe that nothing is better than a homemade gift, I am also painfully aware of the modern day "time crunch" that we all suffer. Who has time for hand crocheting a blanket (if you do have the time... please tell me how to get it!)? 

I may very well do an entry about homemade gifts in the future, but, for now, I put together a short list of really fun gifts! I made sure to find something in every price range!  

1. Snail Tape

How. Stinking. CUTE. I saw this and fell in love with it because it's great for anyone who works with kids or works in an office setting (which will be a large portion of people that you know). 

I'm so Slow, I never go anywhere!

 2. California Bear Sweater

This sweater is so cute! Who doesn't like sweaters? They're totally in right now. People like to lounge too so a comfy, bear sweater is exactly what your friend who spends way too much time watching Friends needs. 

Plus, people automatically feel cooler when they make a California reference.

3. Modern Art Cat Ring

This ring is fabulous because it looks really hip with anything, but it's also really inexpensive. It looks like a little piece of art, but is a kitty cat. 

And kitty cats are cool.

4.  Colored Pens

 Everyone needs pens! This set is really fun because the pens come in all sorts of colors! This is perfect for your friend who loves journaling, drawing, or writing poetry.

5. Fairytale Tea

I haven't tasted this tea myself, but the idea is so romantic, that I couldn't resist! This shop also has other teas with cute names. I think that all friends (who drink tea, of course) will love this gift. 

It comes in a cute little can too, which can even be reused.

6. Microbe Stuffed Animals

Give your friend a cold! the flu! AIDS! You're giving them a humorous gift with this one. Seriously, these are so ridiculous, but they're really funny! This would work for anybody who works in the Health industry, your friend who is always sick, the one who is never sick, or kids (great learning opportunity in a funny way)!

7. Harry Potter Cook Book

This is great for that friend who likes cooking, Harry Potter, or literature in general (who doesn't like Harry Potter, though?). I purchased this for my sister a few years ago and gifted it to her. She really enjoys it! This has a TON of recipes in it. One cool thing about it, is it will have a meal, the recipe, then the page number in the book where the food was referenced. It's all food from the story! Eat like your favorite characters!

8. Hippo Planter

This is so funky and modern, that it's really great for anyone. We all have friends who always have the coolest little things in their house... here's another to add! The shop also has other colors too, so if your friend hates purple, it isn't the end of the world. 

I think this would be really cute for someone who works a desk job... a little zen to his/her mundane work schedule!

9. Earth Tone Leggings 

I love the idea of gifting/getting leggings. We wear them so much now that they're in style. They are great for lounging, sleeping, working out, going under jeans, skirts... under pants...as pants... going over a swimsuit... they have so many great uses! 

These are all sorts of colors and are inexpensive, so they would be a good gift to a girlfriend.

10. Love Letters of Great Men Book

I think this is so romantic. This is a fun gift to give for Valentine's Day, at Weddings, Anniversaries, or any occasion for the hopeless romantic (and we know a ton of hopeless romantics in this darn era). 

Your friend can sit and read many romantic letters and dream about the day they will receive as eloquently written ones of their own!

Love letters will always be in style.

11. Artsy Measuring Cups

One thing that nobody wants to spend a buck on is measuring spoons. One thing that anyone who uses their kitchen needs? Measuring spoons. When you buy these measuring spoons or cups, you're doing someone a big favor. They get beautiful measuring spoons that they will probably never splurge for (not with everyone's finances like they are). 

So do someone a favor. Get them a nice, beautiful set of measuring spoons.

12. Witty Pin 

If you're anything like I am, then you probably have a friend that has a cool hat or backpack with some pins on it. The pins are silly, funny, perhaps political or social... this is a pin that that person needs! It's funny and will make people smile. It's also a great little gift on a tight budget!  

My best friend just got into Funeral School... I think this is for her.

13.  Fairy Jewelry Tray

I like this jewelry dish because A. any girl who wears jewelry could use one; and B. it looks super expensive, but isn't. 

It speaks for itself. 

Oh yes, something I can put all of the expensive pearls I don't own in.

14. Artsy Watch 

Watches are a really cool gift to get because they are so "outdated" to young people (WEIRD). This one is funky, fresh, and would be so fun to wear. It would be great for your best guy friend or girlfriend. Do that person a favor though, and buy a pack of watch batteries to go with it. 

We young people never bother with getting watch batteries.
